I'm about to lose my mind with this one. I've got a spreadsheet that I'm importing into an access table. In the excel file there are a number of text fields and one field that is formatted as percentage and another that is formatted as number.

When I import the excel file into access everything comes over without an issue, except for the number field. In the access table the field is a data type of "number" with field size as "double". The percentage field is setup the same way and comes over fine.

Any ideas? I've been searching all day without luck.

examples would be good. what about the number field?

Be aware that format is just that - it is what it looks like to you, not the underlying value which is what is imported. When importing from excel, the import process examines the first few rows of data to determine the data type - if they are all integers (i.e. with no decimal element) then the import will treat as integer. If the first few rows are blank, it will be treated as text.
