Question Importing special characters to access

Hi all,

I'm not sure if this is the right place for this question (if not, please point me to the right direction). I'm having some problems with importing data with special characters to access. When importing records with special characters, example is a customer name of "Adéle" (the first "e" has an accent mark), access is automatically changing the special characters and changing the name to "Ad├⌐le". Is there a way to make access stop changing special characters automatically and just take what ever it is on the source file? Thanks in advance for all the help

What version of Access are you using?
What type of file are you importing from?

Just tried this importing and linking an Excel file with the Adéle name in a column and did not get any errors.
