Hi All,

My problem is that in the Runtime-version no contextmenu appears in my forms.

Is that normal or is there a property or database-setting or something else that I can change in order to make the context menu appear whenever rightclicking in a form during runtime?

Best regards, Tim van Steenbergen

I'm not entirely sure but you must ensure that the Shortcut Menu property of the form (or control) has that menu selected. I've not had any problems with it.

If you are going to use the Runtime, you need to provide all menus (including shortcut menus)/Ribbons for the users. That has always been like that.

Oh man! Never new that! But thanks for sharing that piece of info.

But this feature takes away a lot of available functionality from the program. The simple cut&paste, sort- and filter-options. Are there any known work-arounds or add-ons with the familiar context-menus or something like that?

Thanks, Tim van Steenbergen

You can create your own custom ribbons which have that functionality. Here's a good tutorial on creating ribbons.

And here's a good article on the context menus.

you do have to provide your own. that's why its free.

and note that any unhandled rte will immediately crash the programme in runtime

only if you use an uncompiled file (mdb / accdb). If you use an mde or accident it won't crash on an unhandled error.

Bob - curious?

Why would an mde not crash on an unhandled error in run-time environment?

What could it do instead?

I don't know why it doesn't do it but Access MVP Albert D. Kallal taught me that. I was skeptical at first too but tried it out and sure enough it just gives an Access error message but it doesn't crash.
