I just moved from Access 2007 to 2016. I was cleaning up one of my tables and delete some fields that have become obsolete.
Now all of a sudden I see that one of the Queries I use has a red X on it and I get a warning that I am "about to run a delete query that will modify data in your table." I DON"T want this to be a delete query! But I don't know how to get it from being a delete query to a regular query!

Thank you!

Open the query in design view then change it to select using the design ribbon

Thank you. And then what do I do?!

Save it as a regular (select) query and carry on with what you were doing before!

Simple as that! Thanks so much for your kind and prompt help!

Now what should I do with the "bad" query? Can I delete it with no impact?

:)

If you save it using the same name you will no longer have a delete query!
Otherwise if you now have 2 queries, you can delete the one you don't need
Remember that no data is stored in a query so you can delete any queries without impact
