Increment

I need to give each entry in a field a code, such as GO6/1, then GO6/2, GO6/3, etc. Is there a way of doing this automatically so that a user doesn't have to type it in, like a sort of customised autonumber.

Use an autonumber field (YourID) and use the display that field in the format "GO6/" & [YourID] in a text box on your form. Disable and/or lock that textox so that the user cannot try to enter/modify the displayed value.
