Instant requery

Hi all,

My form has a combo box that triggers a query that is listed in that form. That query is triggered when I select and deselect that combo box (I select something else). I want that the query is triggered instantly while I go thru the different combo box choices.

Are you wanting to force a requery as the mouse moves over the list of items in the combo?

Yes mouse over or when i scroll down the list in my combo box with arrows

I'm not sure you are going to be able to do it with a standard Combo Box. The problem being that it holds no value until such time as you have made a selection from the list.

You may be able to do something with the pseudo combo originally developed by one of the other regular poster on this forum (Chris O I think). This is the thread.

This thread may give you some pointers on how to detect where the mouse is on the list.

Maybe if i could make the arrows on the keyboard chose different choices....

I'm using a list box but i have to select the combo box choice and select something else to fill the box (query) . i can't scroll down the combo box and fill the list box every time... for example if i am searching for some details that the list box is showing me.

probably better looking for a "spin button" or something like that.

you only get one afterupdate event with a list box/combo box when you exit the box, and effectively save the setting.

I still think you will find it easier to use a listbox or a subform. They can do this quite easily. I don't think there's a way of getting the highlighted value of combo box. Perhaps you can with an API but you will struggle. I suppose the kind of control you want is a Combistbox (i.e. a Combo box and a listbox - no it doesn't exist.)
