as suggested in the 'Welcome new member' write up, this is my quick introduction.
My name + Andy though due to my height 6'5" I am known as Lurch.
I am the Quality Control Manager for an Aerospace Heat Treatment company. WE heat treat frerrous and non-ferrous metals, mainly repair components for landing gear. Just a small compant of 22 (including the cleaners).
We run a database of Access 2010 and Office/Outlook 2010 on laptops running Windows 7and attached to a server.
I have limited knowledge of Access but then the limited knowledge I have is far greater than my nearest rival (nearest rival here has probably '0' knowledge), so it all falls down to me to sort things out when they go wrong. We have a guy who built our database and I have his contact numbers and he is very reliable and always contactable.
I have brought up 6 (six) kids, five of our own plus one fostered three boys three girls, two of the girls being twins, youngest are now 21.
I know nothing about formulas and coding but am not affraid to play with a backed up copy of our database. I tend to base what I do on common sense,and generally muddle through,
