Invalid Use of Null

Hi guys. Can someone help me with this.

I have a form with various fields in there. When i click the save button it updates the EXPIRYDATE field which is worked out from the DATE field. It also saves the data.
Sometimes the DATE field can be blank, when I click save it comes up with "Invalid Use of Null"
What sort of IF statement can I stick in so it ignores blank DATE fields??
