invalid vertical bars error

I've been trying to eliminate the #div/0 error in the footer of my report. I've used the following: =|If (Sum([TOTALBUDGET])=0,"n/a",(Sum([YTD_Activity])/Sum([TOTALBUDGET]))) and I'm getting an error message saying "The expression you entered has invalid vertical bars (|)." Any suggestions?
