I have set up many small databases for various users, and have only recently been reading about splitting into front end/back end. Most of these databases have been in use for quite a while....is it too late to split them?

I also have many many questions about splitting databases, and Access Help is of very little help. I thought I saw a link to some articles the other day, but am unable to find them now that I'm ready to read them. :( If anyone knows of some good articles, I'd appreciate a link.

TIA!

You can split a db anytime as all you are doing is moving the tables to another db and creating a link between the FE(front end) and BE(back end). You can use the db split wizard which does all of the work for you or you can manually export your tables to a new db. Then use the Link Table Manager under Tools to establish the links. From the FE select the appropriate BE, highlight all of the tables, click the box "Always Prompt For New Location" and then OK. You're done.
