Is there a better way to find records other than a combo box?

Actually, I don't know how to post the database.

Actually, I don't know how to post the database.

1. In Access, Open the database.

2. Go to the Round Office Button and select MANAGE from the list.

3. Select COMPACT AND REPAIR from the Manage area.

4. Close the database

5. Go to the file and right-click on it and select SEND TO > COMPRESSED FOLDER.

6. That .zip file that is created is what you will use to upload.

7. Come here to the forum and into this thread.

8. See where you can "quick post" there is a button below it that says GO ADVANCED. Click it.

9. Post something there (perhaps the name of the forms and combos to look at) and then scroll down the page to find the button MANAGE ATTACHMENTS and click it.

10. When that window opens, up at the top you can click the button to Browse for File.

11. Select that zip file you created earlier in this process.

12. After that selection dialog is closed then go to the popup form that had opened and select UPLOAD. Wait for it to upload.

13. After the file name appears as a link in the dialog, click the CLOSE FORM button.

14. Click the SUBMIT REPLY button.

And there you go.

Okay, thanks, that's great info about uploading a db. I never knew about the compact and repair feature. I know about zip files and how to save and upload, but not the other, so thanks! I can't upload this database because it has confidential records in it, but on the next one I will.

if its a string then surely you need

rs.FindFirst "[ID] = " & chr(34) & Str(Me![Combo71]) & chr(34)

i would also be inclined to msgbox combo71 to make sure the combo box has retrieved the column you expect (normally column 0, ie the first column)

Thanks for all the help, but again, the combo box does not work. I'm using MS Office Enterprise, maybe there's a bug, or a necessary service pak. In any event, I think I've wasted enough time on this form as it just not going to work. I'm thinking of starting over. If I find a cure, I'll post it for sure!

what does your code currently look like? also, can you perhaps post a picture of your form design? with one of the problematic combos selected?
