Hello,
i'm lost. The boss wants to be able to write text and design it as he wishes (bold/colors/different fonts/different sizes/etc). I handled that as follows, every time he wants to write text i create a word document, it's saved and can be viewed at anytime. The problem is, i later have to display this text on a report, and the text has to keep its original design. How in the world can i do that? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Throw the boss out. :-)

Your solution seems logical to me. Access is a tool to store data. Word is a tool to format and view text as is PowerPoint.

Thus if they want to format text then give them Word. Save the document somewhere where you can find it and when it comes to report time, display the same document.

I think it is going to be really hard to format your report in the same way as the word document, most likely impossible.

In Access 2007 you can set memo fields to Rich Text and then have some basic formatting tools. There are also some third party tools I think.

darbid, :) No can do.. i still need my paycheck:)
stopher, if that's the case, then it's really unfortunate that i'm using access 2003..

I too came across this problem with Artist's CV. I did manage to get it to work before rtf format Access 1997 and used html. What a faff. So I developed web pages to suck text in and used stylesheets and tags. Much easier once you understand what you are doing.
