what I want to do is click a button and have the button read from a list of branch locations that are in a table and take that list and enter it into a query and feed it to a form. The problem that I have is what I want to happen is it reads the first branch location and then querys it and then sends it to the report then prints it automatically...then I want it to do that again for the second item in the locations table. I need each location printe on a seperate page. I can give more info if this is too confusing

Hi

Why do you need to feed it back to a form?

sorry...I meant it feeds to a report

Surely all you need to do is setup a query, create a report based on the query and create a macro/vba module that prints the report.

You can design the report so it only has 1 record per page.

Unless I have misunderstood the question?

I dont want one record a page... I want only one queried item per page...which could actuially be more than one page. But I am not sure the code to do it

In the report you can put a pagebreak per item. Then it'll print each new item on a new page irrespective of how many pages the previous item is.

Firstly please explain what you mean by a 'query' item. I understand what you say to be a record.

Also I am confused by "! want only one queried item per page...which could actuially be more than one page"

Do you mean one record could be too big to fit on one page?

Scott

see what I have is a an assett tracking database. I want the reports printed by the locations that the assets are locatied. It would be too big of a mess if the papers were all one big report. I just want them to be on seperate pages. For example. The location "Lyndon" would be on one page or a few pages. Syracuse would be on another etc...

I see - in that case follow Colin's advice above.

how do I put in the page break per item?

The pagebreak is on the reports design view toolbox.

Click it and place it in the Items footer section.

im sorry. I had figured that out a while ago but figured it didnt work...because it ddnt work for one of them...the ones after it work fine...but I assumed they all didnt work

So what are you saying? its ok now?

Assuming you've got a header and footer per item - it should work fine.

Col

take a look I cant figure out what is wrong...cincinnatus is what I giving me the trouble

Yep - just had a look - you need to add a footer then put the pagebreak into it. It works fine.

Also - your report is too wide for landscape page, you need to bunch it up a bit.

Col

even cincinnatus was on its own page? Could you post the correction?

i figured out what the problem was...but not the solution...what is happening if two branches happen to fit on one page it will put them on one, but hats not what I want. Any ideas?

I was wondering if anyone had come up with any ideas on how to get the different brances to print on seperate pages if two will fit on a page? I attached another one to make sure it is clean. Thanks for any help
