Here's a goodie:
Package developed on Windows 7 Access 07
When deployed to a Windows 7 machine it runs fine. When deployed on Windows XP Home, Pro, Pro SP3, it crashes as soon as vb is run - "Execution of this application has stopped due to a run-time error."
I was chasing this for a while thinking it was corruption and spent most of the day trying to figure it out and I finally believe it has something to do with the OS. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the runtime on the XP machines but no dice. I changed my startup form and instead of getting an "Execution of this application has stopped due to a run-time error." It gives me a message saying a required DLL is missing - so I made sure all my references had their DLLs and they do.
I would also like to note that a previous package I started in XP and moved to 7 can still be packaged by 7 and will work on an XP machine.
The problem seems to be that for me new Databases made in 7 have a hard time playing with XP, has anyone encountered anything like this and possibly know a fix?
