Kobane

See - opposite way round for me - as i said in my mind its "I agree Power is a big benefactor in war now a days but i do not believe that it is not funded by Greed because in the end - if we weren't greedy we would all stick to our own countries and live in peace."

I guess in the end they're both as bad as each other and will end up in the extinction of man-kind, but who cares when you can have oil.
Hi Mr. Connor Giles: From what I am reading you are talking about oil. Back when we removed Sadam Hussein from power, it was said that we did it for the oil. By 2007 it was apparent that the oil we freed went to Europe, we did not get a drop of it and we were there to give a people who had been under sectarian rule a chance at freedom. However, when the change came from one pres to another came, it was decided we would remove all military and let them (Iraqs) go it alone. Well it created a vacuum where IS is filling in. Don't know what you know about the Koran but the Hidith states that all who are martyred during a JIHAD, (killing of non-believers) they will receive 72 virgins when they go to heaven. Murder is one thing but murder for a JIHAD is OK. They (IS) use the oil revenue to increase their weaponry in order to obtain more Power over the region. They do not care about money. They care about taking over the entire region via a world caliphate. Do you really think Putin took over Crimea for the money. He wanted his foot on Europe's' neck. That my friend is power.

Have already said too much but let me touch base on the above statement of Mr. Connor Giles. "stick to our own countries and live in peace"

Utopia has been tried many times but the closest we have come is the nations that are democratically ruled have never attacked another democratic nation. In fact most all of these work together in one way or the other. So in my opinion until we can change the minds of a few billion people and get them to earnestly work toward a democratic type government in their respective nations, a world wide peace is a pipe dream and war will not disappear.

We have seen it before. Warsaw 1944, when the Russian army patiently waited across the river while the Germans slaughtered the uprising.
Turkey is playing the same game. Tureky is letting ISIS do the dirty work of "ethnic cleansing" so that their hands will be "clean".

The Washington Post printed: "Turkish warplanes hit Kurdish rebels as tensions stoked by Islamic State fight". A quick summary based on reading the Post:

  1. Kurds who fight Assad are valiantly venerated as "freedom fighters" by the Post.
  2. Kurds who fight Erdoğan are demonized as vile despicable "rebels" by the Post.

The Post, despite the dead Kurdish and Christian bodies, fails to comprehend that Turkey is not our friend.

Hi Steve:

Turkey is a democratized nation, but I did not say they were civilized. They have been fighting the Kurds within their borders and the Kurds from Iraq for many a moon. Their military on the border is as much to keep the Kurds from Iraq out as it is to keep IS out. Is what we should do to our border. Rem, both are Muslim Secs. Turkey will keep IS out of their nation.

All those European countries that have lent a helping hand against IS have hadtheir people targeted by IS believers (sleepers) in the various countries. While Europe enjoys a large police force and intellegence units that can stop a beheading before it starts (i.e. four to behead people in England Square got caught), in turkey, they walk freely amongst them. It is in the best interest for Turkey to stay out of it at least above ground so to speak.

Turkey as a democratized nation have threatened no one outside of their borders. This what I spoke of in a earlier post.

Are you getting wet Steve. We have had about 9 inches so far.

Yes i agree, as said before power is a very big benefactor but there is such a thing as greed for power. Putin himself has been named in many magazines as the most powerful person in the world, so in my opinion he was being greedy in the fact that he took over crimea (Greed for power over Europe when he already has a lot of power.)

As for the Qur'an - as me and brian have touched on the subject already , if you read up we have already explained that this is a case of the old leaders feeding poison into the minds of the young and mindless. They do next to nothing in correlation to the Qur'an but expect their followers to do so without a second thought.

In my opinion Religion is/will and always has been used as a weapon, although be it I'm an atheist, i see no harm in following the guidelines in the bible such as being nice and so forth cause everyone could benefit and I'm sure there is a lot of those rules in the Qur'an but owing it all to a being in the sky (or omnipresent) seems a little far fetched to me.

War will never go away because in my opinion - Where there is Religion, (More than one) there will forever be war.

Only a matter of time until Pastafarians declare war on all religions and the flying spaghetti monster will join all in peace :D:p

The above from Connor has the sound of wriggling, is he a politician?

The wish/desire for power versus the greed for power, please explain the difference.

Brian

Where am i wriggling?

I have never claimed that it is the right answer - only claimed it was my opinion.

By the way the wish for power is usually associated with someone who has none - Greed for power is when you have some but that will never enough. Let me Bold this " IN MY OPINION " ;)

Mr. ConnorGiles: While we are both in agreement that both Greed and Power are present in all wars, we will have to agree to disagree on which comes first. Kinda of the chicken and egg deal. lol

Indeed Bladerunner :) - on another subject - I do tend to think the Egg comes first ;) how about you?

Well unless you believe that God created all things, it had to be the chicken that came first. The chicken had to morph from the dinosaur or what ever it was suppose to come from .Can you imagine what the dinosaur thought when they laid the egg that popped out the chicken:" This can not be my kid, guess we have to eat it" Of course if this happened, there would be no chickens? I guess that is where we got the idea to eat your young? lol

Now for you other hard core Atheist and God haters, the above statement was meant to lighten up everything around here. Yes, I can joke about it since I am secure in the direction I have taken in this short term life.

I , Myself have no quarrels with you believing in god, in fact i greatly respect your solemn loyalty towards him and the way you live your life. No harm in following the rules such as being nice to your neighbor and so forth. But on the other hand (This isn't in reference to you or anyone else i have spoken to on this website) I do have a problem with the ones who throw religion in my face like it meant to change my opinion, i also have a problem with children being taught from a young age to follow religion , in my opinion you should make your own mind up not someone do it for you.

Indeed the Dinosaur may have layed the egg which would have given birth to a deformed ancestor to the chicken , maternal instincts may have lead the mother to protect this deformed version of this dinosaur, and the cycle continues through eggs - which lead me to my view :p

So in my view the chicken couldn't have come first due to the fact a dinosaur laid the egg to begin with :p
