For four years I have been using MS Office 97 which has Word, Excel,
Access and PowerPt. Recently I began having trouble with Access so I
uninstalled and reinstalled. All programs work except Access, which
gives me the message "MS Access an't start because there is no license
on this machine."
I can't find any location to enter a serial number or keycode.
Any help?

This is nothing to do with a license, but is a bug caused by the Hattenschweiler font. It is documented on Micosoft's Support Site on the Knowledge base. I can't supply a link , as the site is not functioning properly tonight.

Just type in the phrase and the fix will be revealed...

?Do you have access 2000 installed on your machine!. If so then you need to rename two files before you can install access 97. 1st file is Hatten.ttf rename to hatten.sav, and the 2nd one is Msaccess.exe (version9X) it is the access 2000 one. rename this to msaccess.sav. try installing access 97, then rename the files back .

Hope it works
