Hello this will improve my database very much. Hope you cant help!

I'm as mentiond in other post making a MovieDatabase and is very new with access. Can you link to other forms within a form?

e.g

Title: The Goodfather
Director: ....
Genre: ....
....

Actors:
Al Pacino, Marlon Brando, .....

***

Al Pacino and Marlon Brando have a form each one and I want to link to that. Isnt there a way linking a part of text like in HTML code.. <a href="actorform.php?id=5">Marlon Brando</a> , hehe :) or something ?

Appreciate any help and ideas!

Why seperate forms for each actor? If your DB would hold a 1000 actors you would use a 1000 forms? That defeats the whole purpose of a DB.

But anyway, u can open any form/report/query u like from your current form with a button:

Sub btnOpenForm_Click()
DoCmd.OpenForm "Brando"
End Sub

A much better way would be

DoCmd.OpenForm "Actors", , ,"LastName = 'Brando'"

Here there's only 1 form for all the actors, and u load the record of the actor u want by providing arguments ("LastName = 'Brando'").

Re

Sorry I werent clear enough. There is only one form for actor. Called frmactor and all the actors is in that form.

How im gonna provide that button ?
You see i have a movieform. In that form you se movieinfo. Oringaltitle, Director, Producer...., Actors. How am i gonna put a button in that form when "Brando" aint playing a roll in every movie ?

I need to put a "link" for the specific actor in the movie record. How will I do that?

Sub btnActor_Click()
DoCmd.OpenForm "frmActors", , ,"ActorName =" & "'" & Me.txtActors & "'"
End Sub

This presupposes that in frmMovie the actors appear in a textbox? Just change txtActors to whatever u named this control on your form.

This code will open frmActors and show the selected actor's record.

If the actors appear in a list or combobox with the first (probably hidden) field being numeric (IdActor or something like that) the where clause becomes simpler:

DoCmd.OpenForm "frmActors", , ,"IdActor=" & Me.lstActors

Good luck

Movieform:
This is how i want it to look like.

ID: 1
Title: The Godfather
Year: 1972 Rating: 9.1
Genre: Drama
Director: Francis Ford Coppola
Plot: Mario Puzo, Francis Ford Coppola

Actors:
Marlon Brando, Robert Duvall, Al Pacino, Diane Keaton,
James Caan, Talia Shire, Sterling Hayden, John Cazale,
Al Lettieri, John Marley, Richard Conte, Abe Vigoda,
Richard Castellano, Al Martino, Morgana King, Alex Rocco

****

You see that Marlon Brando and Al Pacino has a link to their actor page in imdb, This should link to their record in frmactors.
I will attach my db scine i dont understand what you mean or if it is that you dont understand what i mean becouse im not clear enough.

Here it is: MyDB

Hope someone can help!

I downloaded your DB and took a look. Well there's a lot to be done, that's for sure. You will need to do some serious research and study on the subject of normalization.

There's a DB I made some time ago for a DVD sales/rental shop, which contains most of what you need. This is a rather full blown commercial app with stock control, cash flow, Invoicing, receivables, payables, salaries, cost calculation, financial reports, etc, but I will strip down the sketch version of this app to leave only the relevant parts (relevant for your case), adapt it a bit to suit your needs, and then send it to you in order to use as a reference. It might take a day or 2 though, so be patient.

@Premy

I appreciate that you take your time helping me. Im very new to access have been working with it for about 3 days now. Need to study everything about it. Will do that over the summer. But I needed to do this for a course im taking which contain a small part about access and when I do something I like to do it really nice and right so this project will be more then enough for the teacher.

This linking part seams to be hard? -I'll wait until your done...
Thank you so much.
