Linked Table issue - Shows as read-only

I split my Access 2007 DB to FE and BE.
The FE has been distributed to multiple users.

The BE is on my system and I have granted full control access (read and write) to all the folders and subfolders where the BE Access 2007 is located.

I have been informed that all users get the information that the BE is read-only and they are unable to modify any records on BE database.

They can only view the existing records.

However, As I had created the BE, I can modify the records at the BE database.

Also when the users try connecting to the BE directly frfom Access 2007 UI, they get the prompt that the BE is read-only and need to Link the tables.

Manual Linking the tables also doesn't work as the NEW linked tables also shopw as read-only.

Please let me know what needs to be done from a networking point of view.

Are you setting a trusted location for the front end on each users machine?

Yes I just checked with all the users.
They had placed the FE in a Trusted Location Folder.

They even tried to link the table manually from a new FE they created, which originated from the trusted location.

When you say, it is, "on my system," is this on a file SERVER or on an individual computer. If on an individual computer, are you on a domain or are you using a peer-to-peer network?

If it is on your computer, do you have your file sharing set up properly? It isn't necessarily enough to just set the permissions at full control for everyone. Depending on your operating system you may have to do some minor adjustments to the file sharing of your computer.

If you are on a domain, there may be group policies in place to keep you from granting FULL PERMISSIONS to a folder for user EVERYONE. You could see if adding an individual user name to the sharing with full permissions would work but then if it did you would have to add each user all of the time. So, the backend usually is suggested to go into a folder on a FILE SERVER which has the folder set to FULL PERMISSIONS.

I had added all the users individually for full access to the shared folder.
I will try this once I get approvals for a file server folder.
