Linked table without primary key

Hello,

I link several Oracle tables which have in Oracle a primary key.

On one workstation, the linked tables are linked automatically with their PK, on another I am prompted by Access to define my PK myself.

Is that a behaviour of
Access (Options) or
the ODBC driver (Oracle).

How can I change which option that PK's are linked automatically with the table?

Thx for your help.

Bernhard

I have deal with SQL Server tables linked to MS Access using DSN and ODBC driver(SQL Server).
When I manually link tables in Access ,I never define PK because they are defined already in SQL Server.
Prompt could be result of :
1) table does not have PK
2) when link view

Hope this help you.
Igor.

This is exactly my problem:
On 1 workstation, I "see" the Primary Key in Access when I open the table Design window.

On the other I don't see the PK and Access "thinks" it does not have a PK.

Consequently it refuses updates of this table.

Any idea how to influence this behaviour?

Bernhard

I would update the ODBC driver on the problem machine. Access isn't really looking at the linked tables. It needs to rely on the ODBC driver for that so the driver is the culpret.
