Hi all,

I've successfully split my database(be on server, fe on desktop) however the macros are now incredibly slow due to a lot of movement of data between tables.

is it possible to restrict the syncing of tables? what would be good is if at the start of the macro i could stop syncing and then at the end start it.

kindest and my thanks.

What do you mean by "syncing" ?
If you directly open a table is it slow to open, how many records are in it ? does it take ages to go from the first to the last record using the navigation buttons ?

the front is used by users who do not directly interact with tables.
the users load data (1000 records ish) via a macro which once imported is frequently moved between tables for various reasons before coming back together. when a table is changed, that change is reflected in the be which is slowing me down.
i believe ive answered my own question by unlinking the intermediary tables however for future reference if you know how you would that may still be handy to me and others viewing.

Are you doing the import to local FE tables or BE tables? If they are local then manipulated then re-exported back to the BE there shouldn't be any slow down.
If this is your process how do you ensure two users don't try and update the same information?

There are no good reasons to move records among tables.
