Linked Table's - Read Only

Is there a way to link MS Access tables as "read only" in Access2000?

Well... yeah - if you used workgroup security. By implication this is linked to an external .MDB file. If there is nothing else at all in the file, you can make this file read-only using Windows security. If other parts of the same external .MDB file must be updated, you have no recourse but to implement Access Workgroup Security. Search this forum for more information on how to do this complex operation.
