I have been creating Access DB for a while and was trying to take the next step. ( at least in my opinion)

I am trying to use Access as a front end on a MySql database. I was under the assumption that I should create a "Project" and then link to the database, but I cannot seem to do that. It is all on my windows 2000 machine. I have set up an ODBC driver but cannot get Access to recognize my database.

I could not find any threads on this forum that were simple enough to step me through. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Are you sure that you have the correct ODBC driver?

You may also need to install MyODBC along with MySQL to allow straight connection from Access to MySQL

Andy,

Did you figure out how to link an Access FE to a MySQL BE?

Because I was wondering how to do that too. I've downloaded MyODBC with MySQL but can't figure out how to do it.

Do you need to use a project or and mdb?
