I want to use the lookup facilty when I enter peoples names into an access 2003 database - just to save having to type out names all of the time. Does anyone have a complete database of common first and surnames that I could put into my database, or know where I can get such a list.

Just as an experiment I appended LastName to a table field that would not take duplicates and out of 5100 names there were 3700 got across. On FirstName 900 got across. Of course there are quite a few unusual names in that list.
So you would have long lookup list
I reckon I could type them quicker.
You could try some of the companies that supply name lists for telemarketing and direct mail. Since you only want the names and not even of a particular person you might get the lot real cheap. I don't know where you live but in Australia some of these companies would have virtually the entire population in data bases.

Just a matter of finding a place who has someone working there that can knock out a query or two and you might get 'em cheap.
