List / Tree view control query

I have Access 97 (Prof. edition) and have just purchased the 2002 upgrade that I thought would give me the use of the active X components offered by way of the Tree and List view controls. However, although I can place the controls on my form design and I am able to set the control properties - I seem unable to additems to the control. The Add() function does not seem to be available.

Also, I have some code for creating a custom CommandBar. However, when I try to declare a CommandBar variable I get 'User defined type not defined'????????

Are these two problems linked - what library references am I missing?
