Very strange problem and I will try to explain it as best as I can. We have a custom program that has now been converted to SQL and runs on the employees Access 2003. At one point in the program is a call to send email to the persons manager and this is where the program locks up. Here's some notes on the issue:
- Happens to a couple people and not to others, even though their setup is the same as everyone else's (ghosted machines)
- When I create a new profile on the actual computer then the program seems to work ok.
- When I setup an email profile (Outlook 2003) it seemed to bring the program back to it's original state of not working, however on the other system which was having the same problem, I was able to setup the email and it worked just fine, but then later in the day it stopped functioning again.
So this seems to be a very strange problem. It works and then it doesn't. A new profile seemed to fix it for a period of time, but as soon as there's a call to send an email from Access it mostly just locks up on those couple systems. Anyone run into this before? The program ran just fine on Access 2000 and Outlook 2000 so I don't think it's in the code. Thanks!
