Looking for advice on Long Text/Memo fields

As some suggested right at the start use a subreport on a form - time and date on the left, notes grows to accommodate;

You would need to play with the spacing a bit ;

The date and note fields are separate in the table.

Then there is no problem. You have a small control to hold the date and a larger control to hold the comment. The control for the comment does NOT extend left to be under the date. It just goes down!
