Looping Records!?

This is just a quick question regarding the setup of Access.

I have recently written a name database and begun to populate it with records. I recently got to 80 records and added a new one. The new record was added fine, but I noticed that it looped around to occupy record space 1 in the table.
I added another record (the 82nd), which looped around to occupy the first record space, pushing the other records up one level.

I'm not loosing any records as a result of this, I'm just deeply curious as to what is happening.

They're probably just re-sorting themselves to whatever the last sorder you selected.
