I have a table (tbl Main) in Access 2000 that has a primary key. This mdb is a backend on a network and is accessed by 20 users who each have a copy of the frontend on their local drive. The problem is that I have recently started losing the primary key in tbl Main. I am not allowed to change the whole frontend/backend setup of the database, but can anyone give me a suggestion as to why I might be losing the key. On a side note, I have also been getting alot of corrupt records lately in this table that I have had to fix.

Thanks

Is the primary key set to auto increment, or is it user entered? In my experience auto is much better.

it is user entered because it makes reference to a specific account number that is already established.

Bummer..
Auto Increment IDs always work because you leave the Application in control. As soon as you give the user control you set yourself up for bad things. If you want a primary key that won't let you down, then add another ID field to your table and make it the primarykey (auto increment). The computer is pretty smart like that, it will do what you tell it every time. The users... I'm not so convinced.
