Lost all tables and queries

Not sure what happened here.
I now have an empty (277MB) shell in which I cannot see any tables or queries.
The event occurred when the db automatically began to "Compact and Repair" in the middle of creating a new query. Any thoughts?

Can you see the database container (Where the tables, etc, should be?

Yes. Only the Access shell. Most of the toolbar items are grayed out.

WOW - I've never seen or heard of this problem .... just as a try, create a new blank database and try to import all the objects into the new one...just to see if anything comes across
