macro to paste many variables into a cell

my mind is blank.

BH, CD, EF RC are all populated variables
I want to paste the contents into a cell, something along the lines of

activecell.value = BH & " " & CD & " " & EF & " " & RC
but this gives be an object required error
I've tried sheet1. at the beginning but this too is wrong

I cant believe I cant do this.

please can you help me?

sussed it, still got to get it right but I have it all but cracked
