Hi guys,

I'm working on a series of forms for a company that I'm currently employed at, and on one of them I've made a listbox which will display records which need action in the next 2 weeks.

That's all going fine, and I'm quite pleased with myself (I'm new at all this!) :)

However, my boss has asked if it's possible to make the items in the listbox flash red? Just so that our external worker REALLY has no excuses!

Just to clarify, I want the text identifying the records (E.g. Name, FinalDate) to flash, but not the headers for the columns in the listbox.

Or any other suggestions would be great, he probably won't want it once I'm done anyway, but I'm sure you've all experienced that from a boss at some point!! :banghead:

Looks like that has possibilities, just need to wait till I have sole usage of the database again!

Or you could create a sample database to play with, it wouldn't take many minutes! :)

My advice: DON'T!

There's nothing more annoying than a beeping/flashing application. Many people thing it is a great idea for others, but the moment they themselves get exposed to it they hate it.

Use conditional formatting to change the background color of control or controls into red, it's quite easy. google the term for how to do it if you don't know.

Cheers JHB, I managed to modify the info from that video to get close to what I needed. I did use my test database, I just had mountain of paperwork I had to get to first!

Hi Spikepl. Don't worry it annoys me too, and I hope it will annoy my boss! It was just one of those things he decided to throw in at the last minute to see what would happen, so I've made it as painful on the eyes as possible!!

And play some loud terrible music too! :D

I do still want him to think I did some actual work today!
