I have a report which will be printed on preprinted paper. On this paper a footer is printed with e.g. address info.

The report has a detail section with a height of 3,5 inch and canGrow=true.
The reportFooter contains totals. The size of this footer, and placements of the fields prevents printing data on the pre-printed footer of the paper.

But when the report has multiple pages, the report footer will be printed on the laste page, and the detail section is expanding to the bottom of the paper, overwriting the pre-printed footer. I need a max height of the detail section, or another solution. Who has an idea?

Put the totals into Page Footer. That will prevent the details growing beyond the limit set by the page footer.

Erase Report footer.

In the On Format event of the page footer, make the controls displaying totals visible, you can use a condition like this:

Me.MyControl.Visible = ([Page] = [Pages])

This will display value of MyControl on the last page only.

thanks a lot. I will implement it this way. The total area is quite large (5 lines) I will always have 5 lines white space this way. Can I shrink the height of the page footer?

On reflection: if you can live with the report footer all over the place then just keep it (and the totals in it) so then you cab set the page footer in whichever way you wish.
