Hi,

when i maximize my form, it fits the screen completely covering the windows tak bar. Is there any way of getting it to fit up to the task bar instead?

Cheers

Are you using;
Code:
DoCmd.RunCommand acCmdAppMaximize
or
Code:
DoCmd.Maximize

im using

DoCmd.Maximize

hi

tried the other, i get no action from it

The other one maximises the application window if it is not already maximised.
However I must say I've never seen DoCmd.Maximize cause the form to obscure the Windows task bar

is it a setting with the taskbar, perhaps? like "autohide" turned off or something? is the form modal? popup?

how about the taskbar setting "keep the taskbar on top of other windows"?? is it turned off?

check all of this, sir! ;)

what happen if you maximize another application ?
does it also cover the taskbar ?

Hi,

the taskbar settings are standard i.e. not set to hide

the form is a popup. Its the only way i found to ensure it was at the front and stayed at the correct size. ( i think anyway)

If you set the Form's Modal property to True this will prevent the user moving focus to any other form until that form has been closed. I'm pretty sure that will do what you are trying to achieve by maximising the form.

Hi JBB

I need to leave the form with the ability to move. My app hides the access window on startup as per my splashscreen tool. The user can move the form and maximize/minimize the app screen with the use of 2 buttons. I'm afraid I can't stop the form from being moved. I'll see what I can do with the form without popup or modal.

I believe that the Modal property (when set tot True) only prevents the focus going to another form until the modal form has been closed.

Hi,

so i have tried all possible combinations for the maximize problem i have. The best i can get is the taskbar to stay on top with my form underneath but i cannot get my form to maximize 'up to' the taskbar. Some of the options have very ugly form borders. i have tried popup yes, modal yes, either alternate options, all form border styles. Its a bit frustrating.

Yhe only option i can see is to set the bottom of the form thicker so everything sits higher than the taskbar but its not ideal as when my form is resized, it will look quite odd. surely there is a solution for this somewhere. i have extensively searched on google.

cheers

Nigel.

Unless I’ve missed it I can not see mentioned the Windows version or the Access version.

Also, try uploading a small database with just a blank Form to demonstrate the problem.

Chris.

H Chris

Sorry. I'm using windows 7 with Access 2007. I'll sort out a sample tomorrow.

OK then, I will not be able to test it under those conditions but if you can also post it in A2003 format I’ll have a look at it.
It may be that it is not version specific and if that’s the case then one size fits all, so to speak.

Chris.
