thank you all so much for all your help so far, but i have another query.

I have imported a spreadsheet from excel into access, and created another table as well. I have to set up a query taking data from both of them. That is no problem.

The created table lookups a field from the imported table and i have also set up autolookup. I enter all the details into the query table, and save it, however whever i open the query again, all the information has gone. i have no idea what i am doing wrong, any guidance would really be wonderful,

well, i make the query in design view and then when i run it the data appears. I then save it, but when i open the query again in the datasheet view and all the data has gone.
