Memo Field / Form A 2010

Hi Everyone.
I have a memo field 0n a form that I have set the boarder color to red. In design view it is red, but in form view it is black. I have checked the back style and that is set to normal. I don’t know what else to check. Any help will be appreciated.

How is the form display set? Is it SINGLE FORM VIEW, CONTINUOUSE FORM VIEW or DATASHEET VIEW?

A Form in Datasheet View ignores such formatting, but in Single View it should be showing as formatted. The border set to Red, on my machine, is barely visible, unlike when it's set to Black, but changing the Border Width from the default of Hairline to 1 Pt or 2 Pt makes it readily visible.

Thank you all for answering. I am aware about datasheet view. this is in single form view and the boarder width is already at 2 points and is very clearly red in design view, but when I switch to form view it turns black. I have tried different colors and it still turns black. I have gooled it until I am blue in the face (pardon the pun <G>) The only setting I could find that might have a bearing was back style property and that is set to normal.

I had a similar problem with Access 2003 and couldn't figure it out. My control was a tex box. The solution was to delete the text box and replace a new one. The new one responded correctly. I don't know why, but it fixed the issue. Try replaceing your current control.

Dnesci, thanks for trying. Sometimes I have a love/hate affair with Access, this is one if those times. A new control didn't help.

Don't know what else to tell you. The approach dnesci gave should have worked if the Textbox Control itself was corrupted. Controls do get corrupted, from time to time, but re-creating them always, to my knowledge, corrects the problem. I suppose it could happen twice-in-a-row to a Control, but I've never heard of it before and I've been trolling half a dozen Access forums 6-8 hours a day for five years now. You could try re-creating it once again.

Controls do have a Border Style Property that can be set to Transparent, but if that were the problem, the border wouldn't show up as Black; it wouldn't show up at all!

The only other possible thing I could suggest would be creating a new, blank database and import all objects into it. This will sometimes get rid of app wide corruption and I suppose you could be seeing this.

Thanks for answering. I am going to try one of your suggestions and that is to inport to a new db, but I think I can test it by just inporting the memo control.

Then maybe run Compact and Repair and then zip the file (right click on it and select SEND TO > COMPRESSED FOLDER). If it still is over 2Mb after doing both of those, then I will PM you an email address if you wish.
