Memo with date

Seem to be having a brain fade here, I have spent all day trying to figure this out.
I am trying to add notes to one of my forms with a date stamp. The form will be viewed every week so new notes will be added with new date stamp any ideas of the best way to do this.

- add a LastUpdate field to the table
- on the Before Update event of the form: Me!LastUpdate = Date()

If you add a memo field to your table.

display the memo history in an enabled/locked textbox with vertical scroll bars

Let users enter a new note, and update the memo field with code such as

mymemo = thedate & theuserid & thenewnote & vbcrlf &vbcrlf & mymemo

This produces a nicely formatted diary type text record in a memo field. You can then let users add individual notes, and add them to the memo.

The memo field can 64k in access, but only 4k in sql, which is a bit small.

Is that what you wanted?

Thanks Gemma that would appear to be just the ticket.
Sorry to say as I am a newbie to all of this I cannot seem to get this to work.
Any other advice you can give would be most appreciated
