Hi,

Can some one explain in simple terms what a Microsoft Data link file would be used for and could this be used for someone else to access information without me knowing. I found this file in a subfolder on are department network drive that I never go into. We use filemaker and access db but I am the only person that should be creating databases and I did not create it. I doubt that any one else that should have access to this folder created it.

Thanks

Dave

you can use a UDL to create a connection to a database. You must still have any required authentication information to use it. You can use a UDL in your provider string or edit it to get the provider properties.
