I had a situation where the gridlines were not printing even though they showed on print preview, but a user (using the same access database) had the gridlines printing properly. We were not printing on the same physical printer, but each printer was a HP Laserjet 4 Plus.
I noticed that some access reports that I printed were also missing lines that show under headings, totals, etc, and again the user's reports were printing fine.
These gridlines on the queries would affect some fields being chopped off (also margin settings affect this).
I tried cross-checking our Access settings (under Tool/options) and whatever else I could find but could not find an obvious solution.
Did some searches here to see if I could find a solution to finding out why the gridlines print and do not print, but I did not find any real solutions. Others seem to have had this problem before.
The solution: Check the printer's properties settings: Detail, Spool Settings, and make sure the setting indicates EMF.
The printer that printed the gridlines had EMF set; the other printer that did not print the gridlines had a blank Spool Setting, and setting it to EMF allowed the gridlines to print.
I figured I would post this here in case someone tries to search for a solution to a similar problem.
Hope this helps some else in the future.
