I have lost the default Menu Bar from my installation of Access XP.

I have tried repairing it. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing Access XP. I have even tried uninstalling and re-installing Office XP and still no Menu Bar. Other Office XP apps are fine.

I am tearing my hair out here. What should I do ???

Default menu bar? Its in the tools->startup options. If you havent disabled shift key or ctrl break will get you to it.

Jon,

That's the trouble. I have no menu bar from which to do Tools startup.

I can launch the Customize dialog by Right Clicking on the Database Toolbar. "Menu Bar" is missing from the list of Toolbars so I can't reset it.

O simple solution ... can you customize a menu bar? If so customize one with tools file menu on there...then you can leave this one open on the list and open the default one from it :-d

Thanks Jon,

Not sure if it was your advise or not but I have fixed it. I launched the properties dialog from the customise dialog. Although "Menu Bar" didn't appear in Customise list, it did appear and was selectable in Toolbar properties dialog. Clicking Restore Defaults brought it back.

Thanks again
