I have developed my DB in Access 2007, it links to Word 11. When I just try to open the DB on another machine which has an earlier version of Word I get an error message; something about Missing reference, 'MSWORD.OLB' version 8.3.

When I look at the references on my machine there are none 'Missing', I can't even open my DB on the older machine because of this error and even then the machine doesn't have VBA installed.

Is there anything I can do? I apologise if this question has already been answered but if it has I would appreciate a link to the post as suggesting I search the forum archive is no help at all as I generally don't find what i'm looking for.

ETA The older machine is running Word 2002.....I am using 2003.

I think it might be having a problem with the RTF format that I have put into the code to export reports to Word...

Ah, or maybe the new Date function I have just added.....

For starters your original thread where I suggested you try the search function...

A quick search on the forum for "Missing reference" leads me to (among many many other) to:
Here
MSDN

This should get you started,
Your machine wont have missing references because they are all there.
The other machines with older word as basicaly saying they cannot find the newer version on this machine which you have linked. Makes kindoff sense??
As to, they dont have VBA installed, that is just basic non-sense. If they have office on them installed VBA is there as well... In Word, Excel all use VBA... if they are installed (as well as access I presume) the VBA is there !
