The db is Access 2000. It works in Access 2000 and 2003. But if the same db is opened in 2007 it does not work???

Here is the problem. There is an Access 2000 db that has a main form and sub-form. The sub-form is in 'Single Form' view and they are linked together.

Normally after you select a record on the main form and click on the sub-form you can use the mouse roller wheel (what is it called?) to scroll through the child records.

This works fine if you open the db using access 2000 or 2003. However, if you open the exact same program file (mdb) using 2007 it does not work. I have been able to click on the sub-form and use the [Page Up] and [Page Down] buttons but this clearly is not the same (or as easy) as using the mouse roller wheel.

Has anyone heard of this or know of a possible solution?

Thank you,

Access 2007 has a new Mouse Wheel event for a form. You can use that if you wish.

The db is an Access 2000 db. We can upgrade it to 2003 but not everyone is on 2007 yet. So this would not help at this time.

I have not used Access 2007 but we are switching to it in the near future. Does the Mouse Wheel not have the same functionality in Access 2007? Do you have to programmatically scroll through records now? Ouch!

Funny you should say that. I would say it is 90% the other way that people were trying to keep it FROM scrolling. You are definitely one of the exceptions :)

Now I am getting nervous, that will dramatically impact the usability of several (many) of our screens/forms. I'm surprised that most programers and users prefer to maually select the next record(s) rather that scroll through them.

Do I understand you correctly?

Ouch! That will be inconvenient, at least for us.

Thanks,

On further research (I should have done this first) it seems as it was designed this way as you said.

The mouse scroll works in datasheet view but not form view so...

I found this on the internet.

I loaded this into a new module and used the forms event and it worked using both Access 2003 and Access 2007.

Our DB was created in '97 updated to 2000 and lost the scroll function with 2007. It was such a huge issue involving productivity in the office. Thanks to Kenln for the link and the Allenbrowne.com for the code.
