I have an Access database that has 4 users. I keep the database on Dropbox so they can all see it and update it. The problem is that the .mdb file only updates when Access closes so that, if two or more of the users are logged on at the same time, the only changes that survive are those entered by the last user to close the .mdb file. We can't afford a WAN. Is there any way of coping with multi-user conflicts using the Dropbox type of cloud storage? I've tried Gladinet and Zumodrive but they work in the same way.

Thank you Boyd, that's a very helpful start. I may have to come back when I have worked through the options.

You're welcome.

We will be here is you have any more questions.

While I can make some sense of the suggested solutions I don't have the expertise or resources to put it into practice.

I have a database which is mainly used by one individual and occasionally need someone else to access it remotely. The is never more than one person using it at any time so the .mdb file does not seem to be an issue.

I have put it on dropbox and access it directly by clicking on the database in dropbox. It seems to work ok. Is this a safe solution or is there a disaster waiting to happen. I would appreciate anyone's advice.
Thanks
