Hello--

Is it possible to have only the detail section of a report be mult-column? I have list of names that are grouped that I would like to have spread across the page without affecting the group header or footer sections.

Thanks.

Go to page set up and under the column area tab change the number of columns to 2. :)

Thanks for the response.

I tried that but found that the column width effects the header as well as the detail section of the grouping which I don't want--or am I missing something?

Thanks.

Make the width of the Header label/textbox the width of the Report

Just tried it--the longer control width was still cut off by the designated column width.

The column formating appears to effect all group components including headers and footers. It does not effect the report header.

I would like to have the group headers not effected, only the detail section--to have a long list under one grouping detail split into columns.

Is this not possible?

Thanks!

Use a subreport in the detail section. The main report will have full width headings and the subreport can be multi-columned.

Just had this problem myself. Go to print setup, set the number of columns that you want, and then where it says column size, uncheck same as detail. Then you adjust the column size to fit how many records you want on the page. Just make sure that on your form, you only have controls in the amount of space you allotted for you columns...i.e. if you set your columns to 2", then make sure that the controls in the detail section are only in the first 2" of the section. Hope this helps.
