I'd like to create an Access application, where all captions of all objects (forms, reports, columns, controls etc) and any messages from the system to the user are in the language corresponding to the country setting of the user's machine.

Anyone with a nice mechanism to do this? E.g., something like the resource files in .NET? TIA.

(There is a sample here: http://www.access-programmers.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=103594 but the language data is sprinkled over the controls, whereas I'd prefer the entire set stored together - in, say, a table, XML, .INI or something like that).

I remeber one scheme suggested on this formum where the labels were simulated with bound textboxes. RecordSource queries joined the data through the user's settings table so the "labels" supported whatever name each user cared to set up.

Didn't even need VBA. However the downside of this is more work for the engine to return the label text on every query.

Thanks, idea duly noted.
