Hi,

I have an Excel sheet that has data pulling from Access via ‘Import External Data’. I use 6 cells for Parameters Years, Months, Part Numbers etc. This works perfectly if each Parameter has only one criteria.

What I can’t figure out is how to allow more than one Part Number to be used in Excel. If I enter “8 OR 11 OR 67” into the Excel Part Number cell and try and run the import. Excel says that it is a ‘Bad Parameter Type’. Access has ‘[Part Number]’ as the Criteria.

Can someone please suggest a Criteria that effectively allows me to enter more than one part number?

The only way I could see of solving this was to enter a parameter for each part number. Which will work for small amounts. But if you want to go above 50ish it causes an error. It’s the 256 text rule I think.

I guess it just can’t be done this way. Does anyone have any ideas how I can set parameters in Excel then pass them to Access. I guess it’s the VBA way.

If I get it going I'll post. Just in case someone has the same problem.
