You need to Add a BOLSippedDetail File with:

BOLShipped
Product Etc

On your BOLShipped SubForm you should put Product Description and two columns the first ProductCode Len = 0,1.5in 0r 3.25cm for the Product Description that way the Product Description is displayed rather than the Product code.

OK.

You have a Billing of Lading as Separate Unique Entity.

Then you have the contents of the BOL (multiple values) of Products.

You end up with a One to Many relationship between the BOL and its contents. You don't repeat the BOL information on the table with the contents just the BOL_ID.

Not quite.

What is the Lot Number? Does this equal the Order being Fulfilled?

Lot number (or you can call Batch Number) is unique number for tracking back the product, one product can have multiple lot numbers but one lot number has only one product.

So if you were to fulfil an Order would use the Lot Number or the Product code. Only the BOLShipped mentions LOT, if the LOT is going to used there is no other table it relates to.

we shipped by product code not lot number, lot number just the information.

OK go it. do not next to track the Batches so that tracked back. If that id that case you would probably need an Order and Product Details the later has Batch Details and would allow Product from different Batches to be allocated to an Order.

Let me give you little more information, we do poultry business, every time our finished product ready, we send to cold storage or our sister plant which has freezer. Order and sales done by the freezer or our sister plant. we still do hand written BOL and I want to get rid of it.

I am new in Access actually learnt few year back and never use it. what I want to make all the BOL in Access. The main issue I am getting is how to make form and print the BOL. we send different product code on same BOL, is there any way I can use Access to make BOL system?

Believe of not it is quite easy. Beleive or not you know exactly what to do but not howto.

I will leave the Batch / Lot out of the equation for a moment.

I assuming you receive an order.

You input The Order (if this is Unique it can also can become the BOL reference).

The Order included the Client / Sister company address details.

Attached to that Order are the Qty and products being shipped or transferred.

All you are missing is this Details table - you really ain't that far away.

Once you have the BOL completed you should be able to Invoice with prices still using the Original Order Reference. If the transfer to the sister company is monetised at value the same process applies.

Thanks Simon, left early yesterday to watch world cup, as I understand do you want me to make one more table for order detail or change the BOL table?

One more thing we do not have any order, we got schedule, we produce and when ready, we shipped.

I have read the posts and downloaded your sample, it needs work but before we get to that let's understand what we are doing first.

There is no way to create a quick database to *just do Bill of Ladings*. So, if you're looking to have something up and running in the next week or so then you need to keep using your paper because that is not going to happen... sorry!

Looking at your sample it seems you are a novice at databases. So here's some suggested reading...

That said, for your database you need several Tables get started...

Code:
tblCompanies (Relate to tblBillOfLading)
tblBillOfLading
tblBillofOfLadingDetail (Relate to tblBillOfLading)
tblProducts (Relate to tblBillofOfLadingDetail)
Create those Tables with ALL the appropiate fields and post it back when you are done for review.

I can't read what you have done I will have a look at the old version over the weekend. An Access 2007 version would be helpful.

@Simon MT

I'd wait the entrie thing has to be redone. Do you want a sample anyway? I can convert it.

Gina.

Yes please. I will try to look at it over the weekend however I'm doing Safety Duty for the Three Piers Race so god knows were I will end up - I just need to take a lot of fuel. If you don't here from me I maybe somewhere off the Essex Coast.
