Hi,

I am using Access 2003 and Acrobat 8.

I have 10 and growing reports I require to export the output to a fixed PDF file for each report it can be the same as the report name i.e. Income Report can be Income Report.pdf

I want to press a button once that does this for me.

I have spent the last day or so trying to figure this out but as I have never done modules before in access am officially stumped.

I tried the post where I drop dll into System32 folder but not knowing enough about amending code could not get it working for my DB.

Really appreciate the time of anyone willing to help me out.

Cheers,

Rob

I'd print to a pdf file with a pdf printer emulator.

Thanks I can do that bit already. Thats not the issue. I have Acrobat 8 Pro installed, I need to get this process automated.

Appreciate any help I can get, would also consider a RTF export to a file name also.

hi Racer25
I tried looking for the same thing last week and the best I could find was to export (in my case i email) "snapshots" - I guess this is Micro$oft's response to Acrobat?

Anyhow - it turned out to be a real simple process - just create a macro.
If you want a little more control like I did, convert the macro to a module. (For good help, just search for "Snapshot" or "Snapshot viewer" in the help files. This is probably the ONLY time that the MS Help file has made sense to me)

Now - When my invoice is generated, it is being mailed automatically.
Now my biggest "pain in the butt" is trying to get rid of the warning that says something like "The system is trying to send a mail undercover - Click yes if you really want to do this"

If you do get a solution that converts to PDF, please post it so that I can try it too.

Hey Racer25
I think I may have found a clue.
With the VB EDITOR window open - click tools/references and then scroll down the list to choose the "Acrobat Access" reference.
This should "import" the acrobat functionality into Access.
Once you have clicked the OK button - Use the "View/Object Browser" option from the menu bar to see how you can interface with Acrobat.

I Hope this gets you started in the right direction?
