I have a table which has a number of fields, however i need to sort the table in number order, then time order. i have a number field and time field, but i can only sort either by time , or by number. is there anyway i can use a sort order so it sorts the number first, then the time field? . Really appreciate your help here!!!!

Many Thanks!!!

You can create a two-field index.

Select the table. Go to design.
Click on indexes button on tool bar.
The indexes dialog box appears.
Under index name , type : Key1 (example)
Under field name, type the first field, then on the
secod line, type the second field.
Save the changes.

You may refer to any ACCESS book to see an example.

Thanks for that!!! works great!!!!!!!

Milan,

SQL supports this:

Select number, time
From YourTable
Order by number ASC, time DESC;

Or in design view for a query you can specify multiple sorts.
