my head hurts!!! Subform restriction

Please take a look at my screenshot.

What i am trying to do is this:

the form 'A' is my main interface. I have several Subforms that pull associated data from the grouping table, then write to the groupingID table.

Each of my Subforms pull filtered data from the grouping table. for example category is all of the records that have type equal 1 in the grouping table.

I have a problem though. I want to write the type into the groupingID table. I think what i want to do is write the value of type into the GroupingID table from information that is already known in the Grouping table.

My brain hurts because i dont know how to solve this problem. Is my table structure even legitimate/functional for this task??

Any help suggestions would be super super uber appreciated.
I can provide my tables if not clear.

I'm not entirely sure about your table relationships or the names of your tables and fields. Could you put up a screenshot of your relationships view?
