Hi there.

This is maybe not the right forum but since I'm messing around in my code, I'll start here.
I'm lost about how to handle this problem.

I got tree tables which I would like to mix together into one "flat" table.
Tabel1 = Persons, Telephone, Fax ...
Table2 = Company, Telephone, Fax, Adr ...
Table3 = Department,

This is the structure I got to copy the data from - the tree tables are linked together with counters. One company can have many dept. with varios persons in each etc etc...

I need to make a table looking like this:
Company
Adr
Telephone
Fax
Dept1
Pers1-1
Tlf1-1
Fax1-1
Pers2-1
Tlf2-1
Fax2-1
Dept2
Pers1-2
Tlf1-2
Fax1-2
Pers2-2
Tlf2-2
Fax2-2

etc. etc.
I know - it's dirty but as I far as I know it's not possible to use other structure with OutLook 97.

So far I got i.e. one company with all the persons in an Array, but I can't figure out how to write the Recordset back to a table.

Any ideas?

Best regards

A couple of clarifications may be needed.

One company - many departments - many staff in these departments. Correct me if that is incorrect.

You would need to have one to many relationships to bind these three tables, then base your form on a query of these three tables.
Let us know if I'm on the right track and we can walk you through the process if neccessary

Almost right track...

Hi Dave.

Yes something like ... except that my data is stored in a accounting system without any export-funcions and that's what I'm trying to make.
I've made the 1-n relation and I'm able to create a table where I put together all the company/dept/staff.

My table looks like this...

Company1 - Dept1 - Staff1
Company1 - Dept1 - Staff2
Company1 - Dept1 - Staff3
Company1 - Dept1 - Staff4
Company1 - Dept2 - Staff1
Company1 - Dept2 - Staff2
Company1 - Dept2 - Staff3
Company2 - Dept1 - Staff1
Company2 - Dept1 - Staff2
Company2 - Dept1 - Staff3
Company3 - Dept1 - Staff1

etc...

What I would like is a table which is "flat" like this:

Company1 - Dept1 - Staff1 - Staff2 - Staff3 - Staff4 - Dept2 - Staff1
Company2 - Dept1 - Staff1 - Staff2 - Staff3 - "empty" - "empty"
Company3 - Dept1 - Staff1 - "empty" - "empty" ....

As I wrote it's dirty but as far as I know the structure of the DB of OutLook 97 is "flat" :-(

Any input?

Best regards
Søren
